THE MUSIC CARTEL ANNOUNCES SIGNING OF TORONTO BASED ROCKERS SEA OF GREEN debut release, Northern Lights, set for July 11, 2000

The Music Cartel announced new signing today of Toronto's stoner rock band Sea of Green. The band has signed a multi album deal with the label. The Music Cartel has rights to the band's releases in North America and Canada--for the rest of the world releases will go through an exclusive
license from The Music Cartel to Rise Above/Music For Nations. The Music Cartel releases are
distributed by Proper Distribution. Radio promotion is handled by McGathy Radio Promotions and in-house; print media and publicity are handled via Fly PR.The Toronto, Canada based band's first release will be an EP titled Northern Lights. The EP was recorded and produced by Nick Blagona (Tea Party, Nazareth, Deep Purple) at The Chalet in Toronto.

Eric Lemasters of The Music Cartel enthuses "Sea Of Green will make an excellent addition to
The Music Cartel's roster. They have a cutting edge side, but also write catchy tunes that have
a pop identity to them. From the first listen to their demo, I knew that they were perfect for us. With the mainstream press already acknowledging the impact of Stoner Rock on today's music and the signing of bands like Queens Of The Stone Age and Unida to major labels, it is only a matter of time before this genre hits the masses. Sea Of Green is poised to be one of those bands." Band member Eric Kuthe adds "Man's Ruin also offered us a deal, but what The Music Cartel had to offer was just too good to pass up. We're real happy with our choice" he beams. Sea of Green derived their name from a hydroponics grow system advertised in High Times
Magazine (these fellas aren't denying the "stoner rock" tag).
